Whether it is a real-time scenario or a digital world, fraud never rests in its place. But, a digital world that gives unlimited access to the world of possibilities through the internet is more vulnerable to fraud. In the second decade of the 21st century, almost all of our data is present on the internet and none can escape from this fact.

According to a recent survey, almost half of the world’s population is using the internet and having a Smartphone. Besides, no Smartphone works without giving a few details whether it is about iPhone or Android. This is the reason there is a saying “privacy is just a myth if you are exposed to the Internet”.

But, is it possible to steal the user’s identity through these big names in the industry? Are there any other ways to steal our identity and misuse it or use it against us? Here you are going to get a clear-cut answer for all these questions. So, let’s dive in!

Renowned names like Google works in a transparent procedure which clarifies why our data is required for them to work. Google collects data about how we use the device, the Google apps, and all other services. It may be a bit terrifying to you to come across this fact, but accept it or not it is true.

Well, the good news is Google is close to safe with all our data. The Google CEO has clarified many times that this is the only way to learn about the users to provide the best experience. Thus, sharing some data with Google is totally worthy in the exchange of incredible user experience. But, the question arises “Is it the same thing with all other services?” Hmm, the answer could be a bit tricky.

There are tons of malware, misleading applications, and websites that can collect our information for other purposes. The possible reasons for such apps could be

  • To push advertisements based on your usage criteria
  • To sell your details to other companies that want to approach you for their services
  • To Spy on you (lowest probability)
  • To use your identity (dangerous and possibly the worst-case scenario for any user)
