Summers can be spent having a lot of fun if planned for accordingly, however, they tend to be tantalizing if you are not prepared to tackle the heat. While it may seem so that your only alternative is cranking up the ac to 12, however, tons of DIY tricks could help you better, some of them are mentioned below:

  • First tackle the sunlight

Natural light is a good thing at times but too much natural sunlight coming inside the home will surely increase the temperature enough to make you feel the heat and make you sweat. However, you can easily tackle this situation by using reflective window panels in addition to curtains. You can also rent cooler online and use them as they will serve two purposes, they can be used to block the windows and to cool the air inside.

  • Switch off the lights

At the times you don’t need light it will be best to switch it off. The traditional light bulbs produce a lot of heat in addition to consuming a lot of electricity, so again you are hitting two marks with a stone. If switching off the lights is not an option you can always opt for LED light bulbs as they are cooler and also consume less power.

  • Door usage

Always keeping the doors closed shut may not be the wisest of choices in summers. You can occasionally open it to allow for the air circulation and the quick breeze to flow in every now and then. In addition to this, you can get air purifiers on rent for the summers and place it by the doors to ensure good quality of air. This practice will surely make the environment a lot more breezy inside the home.

  • Plant shades

While this method may be a bit difficult to pull off and will have to be accompanied by a bit of planning the rewards will certainly make it worth your while. A full-grown tree has been known to protect about 75% of the solar radiation, So you can always plan for one big tree or numerous small plants around your house. This will not only make the look of your house very attractive but will also most certainly make your house a lot cooler regardless of how hot it gets out there.

  • Cook outside

Now this might not be an easy trick to pull off for everyone, however, it is worth a mention. As can be easily anticipated, cooking increases the temperature inside the home by a lot, hence if not regularly then at least occasionally you can surely try to either cook in your garden or inside your home.

The list must have given you a feeling of the fact that planting yourself under the fan is not the only way to fight off summer heat and you can always use your creativity to get some cooling going on inside the home.
