Companies large and small, are quickly embracing an omni-channel approach to marketing & advertising. The past few years have seen a dramatic increase in options.
There are many strategies to ensure your message reaches the intended audience. The Internet alone offers a vast array of advertising options to its users.
On that note, here are a few examples of the different advertising methods you can use to spread both your online and offline presence.
Outdoor Advertising
Outdoor Advertising, aka “out-of-home” or “OOH” for short is any form of advertising that reaches an audience outside of their homes. Some of the most common outdoor advertising types include digital & static billboards, rail posters, bus shelters & bus exterior advertising & taxi-top advertising.
Digital Marketing
When you see any form of online advertising while browsing websites or social media, you are experiencing digital advertising. Browse around and you will notice advertisements on almost all ranked pages or websites on the Internet.
These advertisements are the primary source of revenue for the tech platforms (Facebook, Google, etc.). Some of the many forms of digital advertising include the use of AdWords, LinkedIn advertising and as stated earlier, advertisements on other social media platforms.
Print Advertising
Up until the mid-2000s when the Internet and mobile took the world by storm, print advertising was the major mode of advertisements for companies of all sizes. Years later, though not nearly as effective at it was pre-Internet, print advertising is making a come-back into the advertising arena for very specific use cases.
Broadcast advertising
I was born in the late 1980’s and I remember in the 1990s up until recently, broadcast advertising was the most predominant form of advertising; this is before the dawn of the Internet.
Radio and televisions were the major broadcasting methods that were used to reach consumers. Due to their expensive rates, only large companies could use it.
In as much as other modes of advertising have since emerged, it is still an effective way of communication especially when millions of people are glued to their screens during the Super Bowl and football leagues.
Product placement advertising
Product placement is an advertising method that is gaining popularity. This is the promotion of branded goods and services mostly in movies and other shows.
Have you ever watched a movie and wondered ‘Wow, all these actors must love wearing Adidas sneakers,’ or in an action-packed racing movie and you find yourself thinking ‘An Audi must be a very fast car if all the elite racers are using it.’ That right there is product placement and is one of the best ways companies reach its targeted demographic
