All you need to know about JEE Mains 2017


JEE Main is an all India engineering entrance examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. It is an eligibility test for JEE Advanced and also serves as the parameter for ranking of candidates for admissions to various engineering colleges in the country. The JEE Advanced can be taken only by the candidates who are aspiring to take admissions to various IIT and ISM, Dhanbad.

Qualifying in the JEE Main makes you eligible for JEE Advanced. But, if a candidate fails to score above cut-off marks in JEE Advanced, then they need not be disappointed, as they still have the chance to attend the counseling for various NIT and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTI) to get their place secured there.



  • JEE Main 2017 application form was released on 1st December 2016 by CBSE. The last day for filling the application form will be 2nd January 2017. Payment of fees for the same can be done until 3rd January 2017.
  • Procedure for filling JEE Main 2017 application form includes a registration process, uploading scanned images (photograph, signature, and thumb impression in JPEG format) and fee payment.

JEE Mains 2017 – EXAM DATES:

If you are a JEE aspirant, then it’s high time you figure out your preparation level as JEE Main is fast approaching. Spot your weaknesses and take actions to improve them. According to CBSE, JEE Main 2017 will be conducted in the month of April. The offline paper will be conducted on 2nd April 2017. Meanwhile, the online paper will be conducted on 8th and 9th April 2017.

JEE Main eligibility criteria include eligibility requirements related to the date of birth, qualifying exam, subject, the total number of attempts and AADHAR card number.  Before filling the application form a candidate should know all the information related to it appropriately. 1 Related to Qualifying exam Aspirants should have passed 12th or other qualifying exams in 2015 or 2016.

Aspirants who are appearing for 12th or other qualifying exams in 2017 can also apply.

2 Related to subject combination In class 12th (or equivalent exam) the candidate should have taken exams for any of the five subjects given below.

1. Physics

2. Chemistry/Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical

3. Mathematics

4. Language

5. Any other subject offered by schools

3. Related to Date of Birth Candidate should be born on or after 01/10/1992. Five year age relaxation is given for ST, SC and PwD candidates i.e. born on or after 01/10/1987.
4. Related to the number of attempts Aspirants can take JEE Mains entrance exams for at most 3 times in 3 consecutive years.
5. AADHAR Card Candidates should have their AADHAR number with them. If some errors are present in it, then one should rectify it before filling the application form.
