What if we tell you that the internet, which is full of interesting and useful things, are your main enemy in the daily productivity and concentration? You will not agree, but the true fact is that usually, people spend hours scrolling the social media and other websites and do not do what they need.

How does it work? Easy. When you wake up in the morning, you take your phone and watch everything you missed during the night time’s news, photos, videos, and emails.

The last ones are the total disaster and devour of time, especially if you are the worker at the office or a blogger and there are a bunch of emails every day.

But all these things are not as important, as achieving goals and living the life with happiness. That’s why we have created this list of tips, which will help you to be more productive and stop the internet addiction.

1. Track the Time You Spend on the Internet

To reduce the time, you spend on your phone or in the browser, you need to watch on the number. The number of hours which is used to watch funny videos, chatting with friends and answering the annoying emails.

There are a lot of different apps, which can calculate those things for you and you will be impressed. Usually, the practice shows that people spend 4-8 hours a day on the internet. And now imagine if you will use these time on working on your goal and dream. No doubts you will get closer and closer every day with 2x or even 3x speed.

2. Use the Blocking Apps

If the previous step does not impress you that much to immediately start doing what you need, then with this option you will not have other choices. The blocking apps are such application, which does not allow you to use the social media or any sites you add to the blacklist.

Some of them are pretty expensive, but it is better to pay one time than to spend a fortune of money in the future when your internet procrastination will get to the crucial level and will influence your working conditions.

3. No to “Just to Browse”

It is the massive mistakes we get home from the school, university, work or waits in the queue and the first thing we do is turning on our phone or computer. Any situation when we can get to the internet, we do it. And it affects our day a lot.

Just browsing through the pages take ages and then we are late for the meetings, miss the opportunities and do not take our eyes off the screen. One more point in this step is the adding the pages to the favorite or open them in the new tab to watch it later. You will never return to them, but it takes your time and you lose your concentration skills.

4. Clarify Your Daily Goals

Without the clear daily purpose, you won’t achieve anything and will quickly be distracted by the other things, especially the internet. That’s why it is the necessity to plan your life and write the to-do list for every day.

There should not be a lot of tasks, highlight only 2-3 on which you need to work hard this day and do it. Every time when you feel that you want to check your accounts in the media or watch a funny video, your mind will stop you because it knows what you should do and what is not important at the moment.

5. Turn Off the Device

This step works in the balance with the previous one. Decide which hours of the day are the most productive for you, set your hardest tasks on this period and turn off any device, which you do not need.

Any messages are not crucial now, and every person can call you if it the emergency situation. That’s why no reasons to worry about the news or photos you are missing now. From the moment you finished your main to-do, there would be enough time to check the updates and answer the messages. Do not forget to take breaks, but not use the phone during them. Do a little exercise or drink the glass of water, it will refresh you and give enough power to keep doing.

6. Do Not Multitask

Usually, people have a desire to get more and more done in the one moment and start multitasking things. This way is the straight direction to the poor concentration and focus. Your mind cannot process the many streams of information at once. That means something you will leave without the attention or even miss at all.

How is it connected to the internet? Remember the last time you were washing the dishes or eating the food and have the video on the background. This video is not necessary and does not bring any useful information, because if it were, you would turn it on when you can concentrate on it and delve into what is happening.

7. The Relax Time

The last tip how to spend less time on the internet and live your life happily is not to bring your phone on the meeting with friends, brunches, any walking in the park. Give yourself time to enjoy the moment, and your eyes will thank you too.

The rest is crucial for the modern people, who spend too much time on the work and in the constant race for something. That’s why when you left your phone and any other devices on which you have the access on the internet, you give your mind the space to create new thoughts and ideas, to be relaxed. It also improves your natural ability to analyze and to make decisions.

The seven steps you have just read are the habits you should add to your daily routine to decrease the time you are wasting online. When you do it, you will immediately see the results – how many time now you have to improve yourself, do the things you don’t have time on and also increase the self-care periods.
