If you are a dog owner, then I am pretty sure you have thought of how to keep your dog healthy. Keeping a dog healthy can be a tough task. Aside from usual stuff like visiting the vet and getting a pet insurance plan (try Bivvy), you have to focus on your dog’s exercise, hygiene, and, most importantly, food.

However, most of the dog owners are often confused about what food they should feed their pets. And in case if you belong to the same category, then I am here to help you out. In this article, I am going to talk about what you should feed your dog.

So let’s just head into the topic without wasting much of the time:

What dogs eat?

It is important to know the fact that just like humans, all dogs are individuals. And they can like or dislike something according to their tastes. So a diet that is working for your friend’s dog might not work for your dog too. Hence, for the daily diet, you should consult your vet.

Also, the dog experts suggest that dog food should be complete and balanced for the dog’s state of life. And if your dog has medical issues, then you should feed your dog a pure kibble diet. Or you can mix their diet with some cooked or raw meat, fish, vegetables, and rice.

Even, there are quite a lot of dog owners there who like to feed raw meat to their dogs. And most of the dogs are okay with this. But some dogs simply cannot digest raw meat. Hence, here some of the things that you need to keep in mind while feeding your dog raw meat:

  1. You should choose human grade meat to feed your dog. As some pet meat has bone products in it, which can be bad for your dog’s health.
  2. You should practice impeccable food hygiene. As it can be risky for you and your dog.
  3. Make sure to make a diet from a veterinary nutritionist. As the raw diets are not balanced.

Along with that, you should also consider a small amount of cooked meat, such as boiled chicken or lamb. As these are great options for your dog. But do avoid feeding your dog cooked bones or toxic substances as onion sauces.

You can also consider feeding your dog tinned sardines, tinned tuna, and tinned salmon in spring water. However, these ones are the occasional foods and make sure that there is no bone in it. Even you can also prepare a dog mean using cooked pumpkin and raw grated carrot.

According to some experts, many dogs lack fiber in their diet. And with a cooked pumpkin, you can actually increase the fiber amount in their diet and make your dog more healthy.

Also, for snacks, you can feed your dog Healthy Chews. They are a pretty great snacking option for your dog. Also, you do not have to worry about any digestive issues. You can try out products like Wonder Snaxx or Super Snaxx, which are one of the perfect healthy chews available in the market. And you can purchase them at https://healthy-chews.com/where-to-buy/.

However, you should not avoid feeding your dog bones completely. You should feed your dog one or two bones a week. As it helps in removing plaque from teeth. Remember, the bone should be large enough that the dog can’t fit it in its mouth whole, and they should be raw. Also, do not offer cooked bones to them. As cooked food can get splinted and it can cause internal damages in your dog. And that is something you obviously don’t want.
