What is Octopot’s?
Octopot’s hybrid system designed to create an efficient ecosystem that maximizes the plant growth by utilizing the process of natural Plants Physiology while conserving resources, using Octopot’s as a growing system we expect high yields good quality with low maintenance. Octopot’s hybrid design system is beneficial for both the environment as well as producers that minimizes the higher cost of maintenance and efficiently manages organic cannabis growth.
How Octopot’s Works?
Here is a brief stepwise explanation of how Octopots work :
Sub Irrigation: The seepage irrigation or sub-irrigation is the process of delivering the water to plant roots from below the soil surface. In the Octopot’s hybrid system, it feeds plants at the roots. The growing media above the water level hold by the Hydro Wick to prevent saturation. Water is provided to the roots with the capillary action. The water and nutrients flowing between soil particles are available for the plant root growth with the help of capillary action
To indulge an efficient capillary action, proper airflow, and the physical properties of the growing media are vital.
Capillary Action :
Capillary action or capillary motion is the ability or a process of liquid flow in narrow spaces or roots without opposition to gravitational forces. Hence, Capillary action is necessary for progressive growth. Octopots’ hybrid system creates the proper environment requirements to indulge the effective capillary action. To make sure appropriate capillary action for adequate growth of roots Octopot’sGro sleeve ventilates, the growing media like an air or root pruning pot to increase the airflow and ensure necessary capillary action. For proper beneficial growth, Octopot’s system requires a 60/40 blend of high quality, well-aerated growing media, and perlite, which is 60% soilless mix with no less than 40% perlite in it.
Transpiration :
Transpiration, in simple words, is the water upgraded process by capillary action absorb through roots and the water vapor given off through pores in the leaves.
Octopot’s design improves the capillary action and transpiration process, which ultimately enhances plant growth. The transpiration process evolves essential supply to roots with nutrients, water, carbon dioxide, and evaporative cooling entry. The proper functioning of this process leads to quality yield. Due to constant access to water, oxygen, and nutrients, the plant grows faster.
Hydrotropism :
Hydrotropism is a negative or positive plant growth response in which direction of growth is determined by gradients present in water. Young plant roots which act as Hydro Reservoirs requires a higher level of moisture. Octopot’s irrigation design keeps clones cutting and seeds very hydrated as they are the Hydro reservoirs for the growth. Plants have senses to potential gradients in the root cap, and they bend further towards the direction of the signal. This helps them to identify the direction to get sufficient water.
Root Hybridization :
Roots need to make necessary morphological changes, and Octopot’s create a microclimate that is essential for plant roots to make those morphological changes to be hydroponic terrestrial roots after leaving the soil to enter into the water. For root Hybridization, it is necessary to have darkness and high humidity. This microclimate exposes roots for proper root hybridization.
Octopotification :
Octopots is the first-ever company with the creative initiative of commercially utilizing the root transformation concept so well; hence, we call it “Octopotification”. Root Hybridization by Octopots hybrid design creates plant roots with two different orientations in simple words, “Hybrids”.
Though it is hybrid, the properties like size and structure of the hydroponic root are the same as its species. For example, plants that require moisture will send more roots to the Hydro Reservoir as compared to the plants that require dryer conditions.
Oxygenation :
Oxygenation can be defined as the respiration process in plants with the help of sugars produced during the process of photosynthesis and produce energy for growth of the plant with oxygen. Octopot’s are designed to acquire natural atmospheric exchange in an expanded surface area of water in the Hydro Reservoir. With the help of natural atmospheric exchange that is aeration and degassing dissolved oxygen is removed, Octopot’s grow systems create an oxygen-rich environment.
Oxygen and pH :
Octopot’s do not involve air stones in any process; this may cause some problems. This can lead to wide pH swings and lower the levels of dissolved oxygen, moving only through nutrients water solution that will cause problems. Pumping air from carbonates with elements in the water that lower the pH of the solution. Water holds on CO2 better than O2 as the air moves through the nutrients CO2 is attached, and O2 is bumped. This is the Dissociation process.
Moderate pH swings in Octopot’s hybrid system are normal and allow nutrients to up at their availability.Octopots is truly an amazing and creative initiative do have a look to know more – click here.
